DermVersity Education Institute (“we”, “us”) is committed to protecting your personal data. This policy explains how we collect, use and safeguard information when you interact with this website, in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Who we are

We are the data controller for personal data collected through this website. You can contact us at hello@dermversity.org for any privacy-related enquiry.

What data we collect

We only collect data you actively provide through forms on this site: newsletter subscriptions (email, optional role/institution), contact enquiries (name, email, organisation, message), ambassador applications (name, email, institution, country, track, motivation), event registrations (name, email, role, event), and learning platform waitlist (email, role). We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

Lawful basis

We process this data on the basis of your consent (newsletter, waitlist) and legitimate interest in responding to enquiries, applications and event registrations you have submitted to us.

How we use your data

We use your data only for the purpose for which you provided it: sending you updates you subscribed to, responding to enquiries, processing applications and registrations, and operating the site. We do not sell your data and we do not share it with third parties for marketing.

Data storage and security

Data is stored securely with our infrastructure provider in encrypted databases. Access is restricted to authorised administrators of DermVersity.

Retention

We keep your data only as long as necessary for the stated purpose. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Enquiry and application records are retained for up to 3 years for operational and reporting purposes, then deleted.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, port and object to processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@dermversity.org.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be published on this page with the date of last update.
