About the Institute
Founded to close the gap between what we teach and who we treat.
DermVersity Education Institute was established to address inequities in recognition of clinical conditions across diverse skin tones within medical education.

A note from the founder
"Equity in recognition is equity in care."
I founded DermVersity after years of seeing the same gap repeat itself: clinicians trained on a narrow visual repertoire, then meeting patients whose presentations did not match the textbook.
Our work is built on three commitments — that teaching must be evidence-based, that imagery must reflect the global patient population, and that learning should be accessible to clinicians wherever they practise.
This is the foundation for a Learning Platform that will support clinicians from medical school to senior practice with rigorous, inclusive education.
What we stand for
Five pillars of the Institute.
Mission
Improve equity in medical education by enhancing recognition of dermatological and acute clinical presentations across diverse skin tones.
Vision
A clinical world where every patient is recognised, diagnosed and treated with equal accuracy — regardless of skin tone.
Global engagement
Partnerships with educators, students and institutions across six continents to extend inclusive teaching.
Educational philosophy
Evidence-based, visually rigorous, clinically grounded. We teach what clinicians actually see.
Future goals
A full Learning Platform with CPD-accredited courses, simulations, and a global clinical case library.
